  Rector's Job Description   Minimize

From its humble beginnings in a chicken hatchery to the present, St. Thomas has had a legacy of a caring community. Parishioners view St. Thomas as a place that is warm and friendly; where people seek spiritual nourishment and growth; where lay ministry has a strong and vibrant history.

In this time of dwindling membership in mainstream churches, St. Thomas parish goal is to seek out new and retain current members. Emphasis is focused on reaching out to young families and youth. We are looking for a rector with proven ability in leadership development, Christian formation, vision and planning. Our congregation is well-educated with a suburban laity and is heavily involved in mission and outreach. Membership periods range from 5-20 years, with approximately 70% pledging. Parish profile survey indicates desire for strong pastoral interaction, as well as continuation of liturgical traditions and music.

Inquiries should be directed to the Discernment Team Corresponding Secretary, Vickie Hilton at Hilton2@comcast.net
